Pupils in the Witte, Oranje and Blauwe Tulpen groups receive lessons twice a week from a specialist Gym teacher. The Rode Tulpen once a week.
For Gym classes, children must bring a bag containing a t-shirt, sports shorts and clean sports shoes.
Please report absence of your child online and in advance.
Leave (vacation) requests
From the age of 5, children in the Netherlands are subject to compulsory education and not allowed to be absent from school without a valid reason. You may only apply for leave in extenuating circumstances, and the rules for this are strict.
For example, if you wish to go abroad to attend a wedding or another important event outside regular school holidays, then please consult your child's teacher or school management well in advance (officially 8 weeks in advance!). You also need to complete this request form.
Amsteltaal requests the parents of each pupil to make a voluntary parental contribution of 55 euros. This amount is used for:
• Sinterklaas celebrations
• Easter breakfast
• Other trips, such as the library, language trip and other "extras" for the children
This contribution is voluntary. Even if you do not pay this contribution, your child can participate in the activities.
When pupils have been at Amsteltaal for approximately 26 weeks, there will be a discussion with parents about possible follow-up schools. Parents are responsible for finding a suitable school for their child(ren) themselves, and Amsteltaal only has an advisory role in this.
The municipality of Amstelveen uses a postcode policy and offers a useful information tool for this:
Enter your home address and locate it on the map. With a click on the right mouse button, a list of schools will appear. Parents have a free choice as to which school they would like their child(ren) to transfer.
